Re: The poems of Brian Bilston.

"America is a Gun". The poem dates back to 2016, but tragically topical. England is a cup of tea. France, a wheel of ripened brie. Greece, a short, squat olive tree. America is a gun. Brazil is football on the sand. Argentina, Maradona’s hand. Germany, an oompah band. America is a gun. Hol...

Egg thrower Jason Beesley later apolog...

Charles, The Alternative Prince: An Unauthorized Biography.

Harriet Hall gives a brief preview of this new publication by Edzard Ernst. Edzard Ernst has a new book out: Charles, The Alternative Prince: An Unauthorized Biography. I wrote a full book review that will appear in the next issue of Skeptical Inquirer magazine, but I wanted to give my readers on Sc...

"The court of Britain's prime minister is collapsing."

Martin Ivens, a former editor of The Sunday Times writes. Johnson has always been a figure who reveled in chaos. Now he has got it. No. 10 is living one day at a time. But this is a battle for survival, not for victory. https://www.japantimes.co.jp/opinion/2022/02/06/commentary/world-commentary/bori...

Re: Late night music.

A Liszt transcription of a Bach organ Prelude and Fugue, played by the brilliant young Dutch pianist, Hannes Minnaar. Restrained and refined playing, but he builds up effectively towards the end of the fugue, without going OTT in left hand.

Re: The poems of Brian Bilston.

THIS IS NOT A POEM

it is merely
a few words

to wish you all
a merry Christmas,

presented
in such a way

to make it appear
as if it is

even though,
as I mentioned

at the beginning
of this poem,

it really is
no such thing
