BBC obituaries
The BBC displays some puzzling priorities when it notes the deaths of supposedly very well-known people in the news headlines. At the beginning of the year they made a big fuss over US basketball player Kobe Bryant (of whom probably 99.9% of the population - including me - had never heard). And this morning they announced the death of Sylvester Stallone's mum. No disrespect to the lady, but in UK news headlines? How do they decide these things?
Re: BBC obituaries
Basket ball stars are big news with the yoof! My kids can certainly name all the big NBA names. Also athlete dying young falls into man bite dog territory. Jackie Stallone was a reality TV name in the UK for a while after she appeared on CBB a few years back.

Jackie Stallone was the worlds leading rumpologist.
