I would include Brexit (obviously) - never brought up in the pub although I see FB posts from some of my friends which indicate their leaning.

In my own forum (military guns and ammunition, although off-topic discussions are also permitted) I have three exclusions: politics, religion and global warming! The forum has an international membership including quite a few Americans, so these subjects tend to derail the conversation if they are brought up... 
The other thing I ban is personal attacks, which have a tendency to occur if discussions get too heated. This usually works quite well, I have some Russian members participating and the discussions involving them are quite civilised.
