Too much trouble for too little return, I suspect.
It has become pretty well established that, with rare exceptions, you cannot change people's deeply-held opinions by reasoned argument. Evidence has nothing to do with it - it will be rejected as fake, or just ignored.

The only correction needed to that is that it doesn't just apply to unusually bigoted minds, but to everyone who has an emotional attachment to a particular belief.
